A rare and important identity card, constructed of pale blue card stock with multi-coloured ink, the obverse bearing a certified black-and-white studio portrait of Otto Schniewind in a Marinebrigade Ehrhardt uniform, situated above handwritten details indicating that Schniewind was serving as part of 4. Maschinengewehr-Kompanie, IV. Abteilung, Schiffsstammdivision der Nordsee, following the Marinebrigade Ehrhardt’s dissolution and absorption of some of its personnel into the former, the reverse bearing service stamps and additional handwritten entries, measuring 88 mm (w) x 124 mm (h), demonstrating creasing and moderate material fatigue throughout, a scarce document issued to a notable figure in German naval history bridging Freikorps and Reichsmarine service in very fine condition.
