(Somme-Kreuz). Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with golden-yellow enameled arms trimmed with black enameled border, bearing a central black enameled medallion, overlaid by a silvered inscription of “SOMME 1914-1918”, the twelve o’clock arm topped by an integral loop retaining suspension rings, measuring the reverse six o’clock arm maker marked “FLECK & SOHN, HAMBURG”, measuring 39.64 mm (w) x 39.98 mm (h), weighing 9.4 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
