(Fürstlicher Hausorden von Hohenzollern, Bruststern zum Ehrenkomtur mit Schwertern). Instituted 5 December 1841 by Prince Konstantin of Hohenzollern-Hechingen and Prince Karl Anton of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. (1932-1965 issue). Constructed of silver with Gold and multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a four-pointed radiant starburst, overlaid by a Gold medallion featuring a white enameled centrepiece, in turn bearing a gilded and hand-painted Hohenzollern coat of arms, surrounded by a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “FÜR TREUE UND VERDIENST” (“FOR LOYALTY AND SERVICE”) with green enameled laurel and oak leaf branches, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a rounded catch, unmarked, measuring 74.57 mm (w) x 73.83 mm (h), weighing 46.4 grams, an award piece of exceptional quality in extremely fine condition.
