Iran, Pahlavi Dynasty. An Order of Homayoun, III Class by Bertrand with Case

(دستور همایون). Instituted in 1939. Three-piece construction. In silver, a six point star with clusters of smooth rays, the obverse medallion features a rampant lion holding a sabre on a yellow field with a sun in the background against a blue sky, encircled by red and green rings, the reverse is marked ARTHUS-BERTRAND, measures 67.7 mm (w) x 77.7 mm (h), suspended from a full length original neck ribbon via an intertwined suspension loop, enamels intact, light oxidation to tips of rays, in extremely fine condition. 

Contained in the original case of issue, a brown leatherette exterior stamped with the icon of the  crowned lion on the lid, the interior white silk lid marked ARTHUS BERTRAND, with a creme coloured velvet base for the decoration, measures 92 mm (w) x 162 mm (h) x 40 mm (d), small scuffs to corners, functional clasp, in very fine condition. Complete with a small boutonniere.
