Iran, Pahlavi Dynasty. An Order of Homayoun, III Class Commander, by Bertrand

(دستور همایون). Instituted in 1939. Three-piece construction, centrepiece in silver with red and green enamels and incorporating a beautiful hand-painted image of a lion with sun in the background, mounted to a silver six-pointed star base, each star point with seven emanating rays, reverse plain, maker marked "AB & Co 800" (Arthus Bertrand) on the loop, measuring 67.7 mm (w) x 77.5 mm (h), the badge suspended from a hanger with an intricately twisted design and loop, on an incorrect full-length neck ribbon, intact enamels, contact marks with loss of silver and surface wear evident on the reverse, better than very fine.
