A two-piece construction, large five-pointed star in Gold, mounted to a silver oval base incorporating a swirl design created by overlapping plain leaves, each quadrant bearing nine leaves, hand-engraved with Japanese characters on either side of the pin on the reverse, measuring 35.3 mm (w) x 41.5 mm (h), vertical pinback, well worn, fine. In its wooden case of issue, the case with a balsa wood finish, recessed medal bed in violet velvet, measuring 74 mm (w) x 88 mm (h) x 22 mm (h), case very fine.
