Constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a hollow diamond with white enameled arms, bearing an inscription of “SCIENTIAE ET PATRIAE” (“FOR SCIENCE AND FATHERLAND”), overlaid by silver initials “LU” for Latvijas Universitāte (University of Latvia), topped by a silver laurel crown, with a silvered and enameled Latvian coat of arms at the bottom, the reverse with dual loops for attachment, stamped with a graduate number of “878”, a silver content number of “875”, and a silversmith mark of “FM” for Vilhelms Fridrichs Müller, measuring 27.20 mm (w) x 43.55 mm (h), weighing 8.7 grams, in extremely fine codnition, and; a 1937 graduate badge, constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a red and white enameled diamond, topped by a silver Latvian coat of arms, overlaid by central silver initials “VLG”, topped by a silvered date of “1937” and above a number “15” in Roman numerals, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, marked with “HG” for an unidentified silversmith, measuring 23.90 mm (w) x 43.95, weighing 10.2 grams, in extremely fine condition.
