Poland, Republic. An Order of Military Virtue with Miniature, Type VI, c.1945

(Virtuti Militari). Instituted 1792. (c. 1942). A silver Cross Pattée with dual ball finals and black enamel lettering and boarders, on a fixed loop and ring for suspension from its period original ribbon using a dual needle pin,the cenre in bronze gilt presenting a leftward facing white enameled eagle within a green enameled laurel wreath, bearing the order’s name on the arms of the cross in black enamels, the reverse with a similar bronze gilt centre, inscribed “Honor I Ojczyzna 1792”, unmarked, measuring 38.2 mm (w) x 38.1 mm (l), weighing 18.00 grams, in very fine condition. Accompanied by a miniature of the award featuring a screwback suspension, measuring 16.4 mm (w) x 31.2 mm (l), weighing 3.46 grams, both contained in the base of a presentation case, in overall very fine condition.
