(Ordinul Steaua Romaniei). Instituted in 1877 by Prince Carol I. Type II (1932-1947). Military Division. In silver gilt, a blue enamelled cross with eagles in each quadrant, swords pierce the central medallion, the obverse medallion features the cypher of Carol I, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed IN FIDE SALUS, encircled by a green enamelled wreath, the reverse medallion features the year 1877 on a red enamel field, surrounded by a green enamelled wreath, the cross is surmounted by a crown suspension, measures 39.3 mm (w) x 61.1 (h – inclusive of cross adorned crown suspension), worn on a replacement ribbon, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
