Russia, Kingdom. An Order of St. Stanislaus, II Class, Type II, c. 1900 by Albert Keibel

(Орден Святого Станислава). Instituted in 1765 in Poland and adopted in 1831 as an Imperial Russian Order. An 18kt Gold Maltese Cross with ball finials and fans along the outer edges of the arms and with small gilded Russian Imperial eagles in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, the obverse with a central white enameled medallion bearing a hand-painted set of “SS” lettering surrounded by a green enameled laurel wreath, the reverse with a matching hand-painted white painted central medallion, marked with a Russian Gold hallmark on the reverse of the top arm and “AK” for manufacture by Albert Keibel on the reverse of the bottom arm, suspended from a dual set of swivel rings for suspension from its period original neck ribbon, measuring 47.5 mm (w) x 51.1 mm (l), weighing 19.96 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
