Russia, Soviet Union. An Order of the Red Banner of Labour, Type II - Screwback by Mondvor Mint

(Орден Трудового Красного Знамени). Instituted in 1928. Multi-piece construction, constructed of silver in the shape of a cogwheel, with “Proletarians of the World, unite”) in Russian script on the lower half of the visible cogwheel, below the cogwheel is a red enameled five pointed star superimposed on a shield from which four short panicles of wreath protrude left and right, centrally is a depicting of a hydro-electric dam with blue enamels representing water below the water, all surrounded by an oak wreath and topped by a large superimposing red flag marked “CCCP” in gilt, the reverse with a screw back post and accompanying screwback plate, marked in Russian script by the Mondor Mint, and numbered “12005”, measuring 37.1 mm (w) x 44.5 mm (l), weighing 52.05 grams, the red enamels on the top of the banner expertly repaired, in near extremely fine condition.
