In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Медаль «За боевые заслуги»). Instituted in 1938. Includes:
1. Medal for Combat Service, Type I: in silver with red enamels, number impressed "210435" on the reverse, measuring 32 mm (w) x 36.8 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, intact enamels, circular highlight evident on the reverse, edge nicks, bruised, contact marks, suspended from a ribboned rectangular hanger with screwback, mint marked "МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР" (Monetny Dvor) on the screwback.
2. Medal for Combat Service, Type II: in silver with red enamels, un-numbered, measuring 32.2 mm (w) x 37 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, intact enamels, tiny edge nicks, very light contact overall, lightly soiled original ribbon, mounted to a five-sided magnetic metal suspension with pinback.
Fine and better than very fine, respectively.
Footnote: The Medal for Combat Service was a Soviet military medal awarded for "combat action resulting in a military success", "courageous defense of the state borders", or "successful military and political training and preparation". It was created on October 17, 1938 by the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union. Like the Medal "For Courage", its status was revised to prevent the medal from being given for years of service (a practice that was rampant in the USSR) rather than actual bravery during a battle. More than 5,210,000 medals were awarded between 1938 and 1991.
