A late-war Serbian national flag, of multi-piece construction, consisting of three equal red, blue, and white cotton-blended panels, overlaid by double-sided shield bearing dyed coats of arms of the Kingdom of Serbia consisting of crowned and double-headed national eagles of the Nemanjić dynasty, in turn defaced by a Serbian Cross, the hoist edge reinforced by an additional layer of white cotton twill, in turn featuring a hollow channel white retains an original rope culminating at the top in a wooden dowel and at the bottom in a knot, the hoist edge stamped with a number “2”, otherwise unmarked, measuring 170 cm (w) x 84 cm (h), demonstrating age-appropriate soiling and material fatigue throughout (the former including some running of dye consistent with moisture exposure), a field-displayed example produced c. 1918 in very fine condition.
