United Kingdom. A George V. Military Cross with Case

(George V. Military Cross). Instituted December 28th, 1914. Constructed of silver, consisting of a cross with a crown at the end of each arm and the Royal Cypher of GRI in the center, the reverse is plain, on a fixed loop and swivel ring for suspension from its period original ribbon featuring a ribbon bar and horizontal pinback for attachment to a uniform, unmarked, measuring 43.8 mm (w) x 48.1 mm (l), weighing 27.55 grams inclusive of its ribbon, in extremely fine condition.

Accompanied by its presentation case, constructed of a lightweight wooden core with a dark burgundy faux leather exterior, the exterior of the lid embossed with the Royal crown in gilt, the interior of the lid lined with padded silk, the base of the case with a recessed white felted medal bed for plush seating of the award, the lid completely detached from the base at the metal hinge, measuring 70 mm (w) x 122 mm (l), the case in fine condition.
