Instituted in 1892. In silver and silver gilt, Royal cypher of Queen Victoria, toppy by a silver gilt crown, circumscribed by a wreath, reverse marked S&G, as well as British lion, an anchor (Birmingham 1773-present), and u (1894), suspension marked lion, original ribbon with silver clasp, 47.4 mm (h) x 35.3 mm (w), extremely fine. In a hard-shelled case, white satin lined on the inside lid, purple velvet medal bed, extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Territorial Forces Decoration was instituted on 29 September 1908 and was awarded for a minimum of 20 years commissioned service, with service in the ranks counting half and war service counting double.
