Parry, author of "For Glory and Renown", published by Cassell and Company, Limited of London, Paris, New York and Melbourne, the First Edition published in August 1895, the New and Revised Edition in October 1898, this edition Reprinted in 1899. There are eight single pages of black and white illustrations by Stanley L. Wood inserted as the Frontispiece with a vellum insert, and between pages 30-31, 106-107, 124-125, 152-153, 178-179, 204-205, 264-265, the illustrations complemented by a line graphic of the Victoria Cross on page xv. The book contains 434 pages, printed in black ink, the text on a thick newsprint paper stock, the eight pages of black and white photographs on a white paper stock, measuring 135 mm (w) x 195 mm (h) x 35 mm (d). It exhibits light wear on the cover, with sunning on the spine, discolouration present on the top of the pages, a small piece torn from the upper right corner on the inside front cover endpaper, the pages within remaining unaffected. Very fine.
